Jae Pil Eun is a visual artist who lives and works in China, Korea, and the Netherlands. He explores the concept of home, belonging with memories of migration. He has made performances studying individual histories around him. A queer actor at Peking opera in 19th century, his grandmother were the subjects. What matters to the artist is not simply the big historical event traceable through media, but the personal emotions and nuances that can not easily be translated to another language. Such things as hope, boredom, and disconnection gave him the energy to continue working.
